Moffett Collection offered to the Museum in addition to selections from the Permanent Collection, the second floor installation features 36 large paintings by a new generation of abstract artists working in the United States and Canada. These artists, including Graham Peacock, Bruce Piermarini Jerry Webster, Steven Brent, Joseph Darpell, Susan Roth, Daryl Hughto, John Gittins, and others, combine the post World War II audition of abstract expressionism with a new material, the new acrylic thickening gels developed in the 80's. This group of paintings has been offered as a gift to the Museum of An by Executive Director, Dr. Kenworth W Moffett.

Noland, Olitski and Poons on loan

Works by Kenneth Noland, Jules Olitski and Larry Poons have been loaned by the artists to place the new abstract paintings in context, historically and stylistically.
